How We Met: On a snowy day in January 2013, what should have been a quick stop at a
gas station on Ashanti’s way to work unexpectedly became the beginning of forever.
During a casual gas station stroll, Les noticed Ashanti immediately and wasted no time
trying to get her attention. After seeing her smile during a conversation inside the gas
station, he jokingly accused her of being picked up by some older man out there. Bold
behavior from someone asking for a phone number without even having a cell phone himself.

What started as a funny interaction in the middle of winter quickly turned into
something much bigger. Through 13 years of growth, love, laughter, and life’s changes,
their connection only grew stronger. From snowy gas station conversations to today’s
world full of endless technology and ways to stay connected, one thing remained
constant: each other. Now, after all these years, Ashanti and Les are excited to commit
themselves to one another for the rest of their lives.
